What are the whole-food-blend sources used in PuraPlant 21 and the reformulated IsaLean Protein Shakes?
These Isagenix products feature highly concentrated functional blends of fruits and vegetables and provide bioavailable sources of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals found in those foods. Specifically, the blend contains cranberry, broccoli, kale, pumpkin, sweet potato, spinach, sunflower seeds, maitake and shiitake mushrooms, and green algae, chlorella. This blend is also found in BĒA™ Sparkling Energy Drink.
How do the nutrients from whole food sources compare with synthetic vitamins?
Synthetic vitamins are typically represented by a single (molecular) form or structure. Some common examples are vitamin A (which might be provided by beta carotene), vitamin E by alpha-tocopherol, and vitamin B6 as pyridoxine hydrochloride. Whole food sources provide these same vitamin forms; however, foods also may contain additional vitamers, providing even greater vitamin diversity. For example, vitamin E in spinach may exist as multiple vitamers: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta-tocopherols. Similarly, pumpkin and broccoli may provide several different carotenoids that provide vitamin A, such as beta carotene, and carotenoids that don’t contribute to vitamin A activity.
How do vitamers support health?
Different vitamers often have subtly different benefits from one another. A diversity of vitamers from whole foods helps ensure you receive those benefits. For example, carotenoids found in our blend may provide cellular health benefits to the immune and antioxidant defense systems.
What are the PuraPlant 21 capsules made from?
They are made from 100% vegetable cellulose.
Can PuraPlant 21 be used with other Isagenix products?
Absolutely! PuraPlant 21 is an excellent complement to any Isagenix System and pairs well with other daily supplements, including CytoActives™, C-Lyte®, IsaOmega™, and Recharge NAD™.
Is this safe to take while breastfeeding or pregnant?
When taking a supplement of any kind during pregnancy or breastfeeding, we recommend consulting a physician and showing them our nutritional labels to make the best decision for you.
Why should I take PuraPlant 21 if I get all the vitamins and minerals I need from IsaLean Protein Shakes?
One serving of PuraPlant 21 provides 100% daily value (DV) of 21 vitamins and minerals (for vitamin D, the supplement provides 250% DV). Two IsaLean Shakes would provide roughly 50% DV of a person’s essential vitamins and minerals from whole food sources. Therefore, we recommend combining the two products to obtain adequate and optimal levels of these key nutrients. Additionally, PuraPlant 21 contains 5 mg of the carotenoid lutein and 150 mg of the omega-3 fatty acid, DHA, from marine algae. Lutein accumulates in eye tissue and is very important in supporting eye health. The omega-3 fatty acid DHA supports brain, neural, and cardiovascular health.
Is the PuraPlant 21 serving size the same for both men & women?
Yes, the serving size is the same for both men and women
Should I split up the servings to take one pill in the morning and one at night? / Should I take both pills at once or spread throughout the day?
We recommend following the stated usage instructions to take both capsules of PuraPlant 21 at once with your largest meal of the day to provide some dietary fat to help absorption.
Have the whole-food-sourced nutrients in PuraPlant 21 and the reformulated IsaLean Protein Shakes been scientifically studied?
Yes. These blends have been studied in cellular and animal models. They have demonstrated benefits for several body functions and systems (exercise performance, aging, neurological, antioxidant, cardiovascular, etc.). A clinical trial with these blends is currently being considered.
Are the nutrients in whole-food-sourced blends stable?
Yes. These vitamins and minerals are stable due to their technological innovations, concentration, and microencapsulation.
Can you overconsume synthetic or natural vitamins?
Increasing evidence shows that excessive consumption of synthetic vitamins may cause potential health issues. However, vitamins from whole food sources do not pose these issues as it is extremely unlikely that they are provided in excess amounts from their food sources.
